Samsung Announces The W2014 Flip Phone, Fastest One Ever
With the mobile market in it’s hand, Samsung has moved up the ladder even further, or a bit back. Samsung just went old school, keeping in mind the ‘old is gold’ phrase, with the announcement of the W2014 flip phone at the ‘Heart of the World’ charity concert. And to top it off, it’s not a feature phone, but a high-end affairs with Android on top. Got you excited yet?
The new high-end flip phone is powered by Android 4.3 with toppings of Touchwiz UI. As you would expect, the W2014 is the world’s fastest flip phone featuring Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 800 quad-core SoC clocked at 2.3GHz, 2GB of Ram and 32GB internal memory (with microSD card slot). The W2014 sports a 13MP rear camera, while the front-facing camera is a 2MP affairs. On the connectivity side it has Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0 and dual-SIM connectivity (CDMA2000 800/1900 and GSM 900/1800/1900). The W2014 sports a 3.7-inch Super AMOLED display with an outdated 800×480 resolution. The battery is 1900mAh affairs, and removable.
Samsung partnered up with China Telecom to launch the flip phone. There is no confirmed launch date, and we are still in the dark about the price, but expect nothing short of CN¥10,000, which is about US$1,640. Certainly not everyone’s cup of tea, but not a slouch either.
